We conceive Puppet Therapy as a methodology that is part of artistic and/or Creative Therapies that integrates elements of the theater of Animated Forms and Art Therapy in the field of complementary and/or integrative therapies. Puppet Therapy uses the puppet (in movement), which is a metaphor of the human being, as an animated expressive object and intermediary in the elaboration of images and the internal world, for the construction of a projective material, the basis of the processes that facilitate the materialization of emotions and the physicalization of pain, allowing the elaboration and re-reading of trauma with distance and security.

The work is guided in a group way through the relationship of each participant with his or her exploration and creation through the language of silence; the spoken word is not used. Silence allows to respect personal and group time to enter the collective pulse and to give time for their respective analyses and reflections according to what is possible in each one, making appear and/or highlight the hidden, the invisible, the not previously thought, the unconscious, or the unrecognized. Its capacity to project emotions and to “emote” allows the approach and work of affections and sensitive issues. It is a creative-therapeutic work that allows self-exploration.
